First-class live music comes to the Sydney Opera House Forecourt
Get ready for two weeks of shows from a range of first-class musical talent, all staged beside one of the most breathtaking views in the world.
On The Steps returns to the Sydney Opera House Forecourt this December for its fifth year, with a stellar line-up featuring Australian Crawl, Rise Against, James Blake, DMA’S, Wolf Alice, Dizzee Rascal, Dylan Gossett, Spacey Jane and The Amity Affliction.
Presented by Live Nation, 11 shows take over the forecourt from 28 November to 12 December, bringing a mix of international and Australian artists to one of Sydney’s most iconic outdoor stages.
Legendary Aussie rock band Australian Crawl kicks off the program on 28 November supported by Boom Crash Opera. American punk rockers Rise Against bring their explosive energy on 1 December, with Dropkick Murphys. They’ll be followed on 2 December by electronic artist James Blake, renowned for his genre-defying blend of electronic, soul and R&B.
On 3 December, Australian trio DMA’S will take to the stage, bringing their stadium-sized choruses to On The Steps, supported by Automatic. On 4 December, British alternative rockers and 2026 BRIT Award winners Wolf Alice perform.
Dizzee Rascal, a UK artist, will headline on 5 December, joined by a stacked supporting bill featuring Example, ArrDee and Swaglord Savannah.
The series continues with multi-platinum country singer-songwriter Dylan Gossett on 6 December, and Triple J darlings and homegrown indie stars Spacey Jane will play two highly anticipated shows on 10 and 11 December, supported by Telenova and Armlock. Australian post-hardcore heavyweights The Amity Affliction will take to the Forecourt on 12 December.
On The Steps will raise funds for music industry charity Support Act and its AusMusic T-Shirt Day campaign.
No BYO alcohol, beverages, food or glass is permitted but ticketholders are welcome to bring an empty, non-glass water bottle – there are water refill stations on site.
Food and drink will be available for purchase once inside the venue (a valid photo ID will be required).
Recent NSW Government changes that increased outdoor event capacity to up to 7,000 people for major concerts means more tickets are available for the shows.
More music lovers now have the opportunity to secure a spot at the sought-after summer concert series.
“On The Steps is always a privilege to deliver, and it’s incredible that in our fifth year we’re able to welcome more fans than ever to each show,” said Mike Ross, promoter with Live Nation Australia.
On The Steps is curated exclusively for the Sydney Opera House Forecourt, and more than 50,000 fans are expected to attend a show across the season.
