Transport for NSW has urged passengers to plan ahead with planned industrial action from yesterday.

The Rail, Tram and Bus Union (RTBU) has informed Transport for NSW that members intend to take industrial action that may affect bus services and wait times. Further work bans affecting buses departing depots commenced this morning (5 November). The actions are expected to continue indefinitely.

While buses are expected to continue operating, the industrial action may result in some services being delayed or cancelled where buses are unable to meet the requirements of the notified work bans. Impacts are expected to be felt in certain areas, including on the Northern Beaches and lower North Shore.

Transport for NSW are encouraging passengers to allow extra travel time and considering travelling outside peak periods where possible.

Other transport options, including trains, ferries, light rail and roads, may also be busier than usual as passengers seek alternative travel options.

Passengers can plan ahead by checking transportnsw.info for the latest updates and downloading the Opal Travel app for real-time disruption information.
