Save Little Manly Beach Foreshore Inc, a not-for-profit committed to protecting and conserving Little Manly Beach’s foreshore, currently has an exhibition on show at Manly Library.
The organisation is known for taking the former Manly Council to the Land and Environment Court in 2013 and 2014 to prevent the sale of community land around Little Manly Beach. The foreshore properties instead became part of the surrounding park land, forming a public reserve.
Now, the organisation is being amplified through the Little Manly, Big Story exhibition.
The exhibition highlights the rich history of Little Manly Beach, illustrated by local historian Virginia Macleod.
Archivist and member of Save Little Manly Beach Foreshore Inc Diane Deane curated half of the exhibition. Diane highlights the achievements and challenges experienced by Save Little Manly Beach Foreshore Inc over time, particularly in working to subsume the properties on Little Manly’s foreshore.
To view the Little Manly, Big Story exhibition, visit the Creative Library from Friday 8 May to Tuesday 30 June.
