It’s almost time for the winners of the Beaches Young Filmmakers Competition to be revealed!
On 9 September, from 7pm to 9pm, Hoyts Warringah Mall will host the competition’s finals and awards night. The evening will include a viewing of the finalists’ films. The filmmakers, aged from 12 to 24, are in the running for a prize pool of over $3,000, plus industry prizes.
Participants, both solo and in teams, had four days to create a short film of up to seven minutes. They had to weave in secret challenge elements – the keyword, ‘together,’ mystery items like a key, mirror or quilt, and a phrase, like ‘look again.’ The competition is run by Northern Beaches Council.
Everyone is welcome to attend the event, with tickets available for $10+.
