Northern Beaches Council is seeking expressions of interest (EOI) for an organisation to support the revitalisation of Manly Town Hall.
Manly Town Hall is a heritage-listed building from the 1930s, located across from Manly Wharf. Council said there is opportunity for enhanced community usage, with aims for the reimagined use of the building to maintain its long-term value for the community.
Northern Beaches Mayor Sue Heins said the EOI offers an exceptional prospect to explore innovative ideas for one of Manly’s most recognisable civic buildings.
“Manly Town Hall is a much-loved local landmark, and Council wants to see it continue to play a significant role in the life of Manly,” Mayor Heins said.
“This process is about evaluating the market and inviting ideas that respect the heritage significance of the building, meet community expectations and deliver a positive long-term outcome.
“Any proposal must preserve Council ownership of the building, come at no cost to ratepayers and provide an alternative solution for Council’s operational needs in Manly.”
Submissions close on Tuesday 8 December, with details of the submissions aiming to be reported to council in March of next year. Council will then provide direction on next steps.
