Delight your tastebuds in Mosman

Join in a relaxing day of wine, food and family fun at Balmoral Beach Reserve as it hosts the Mudgee Wine and Food Festival on 18 August.

This free boutique event is in its 20th year and will feature a whole day of music, quality produce and wine. It aims to promote the heritage, reputation and future of the Mudgee region while offering the local community a delightful day out.

Whether you’re a wine enthusiast, a foodie or you’re just looking to spend quality time outdoors, the festival will have something for everyone.

Wine tasting will be available, with up to 20 unique wine experts from the Mudgee region available, along with Sydney cellars and wine producers.

Cremorne entrepreneur Shane Blackett runs the Mosman Women’s Wine Club and will participate in the festival with her stand for a second time.

“We loved it. It was a really nice, relaxing experience where you could lay around on the grass or flick around different tents and try different wines,” Shane says of last year’s festival. “All the winemakers are approachable, friendly and very knowledgeable. The food was fantastic. It was a lovely atmosphere and experience.”

Shane’s family has been running a vineyard for over a decade now, which has given her a knowledge of and passion for wine. Shane supports her Mosman group through her company, Wine, Body and Spirit, a ‘vibrant community of vino vixens and sassy sipsters who believe that life should be enjoyed with a glass of wine in hand’. She hosts different events and meetups around Sydney and runs a podcast.

“Mudgee and other festivals allow us to be able to get our members together, network and make new friends. It creates memorable experiences and builds rapport within the community,” she says.

“The winemakers down there are fabulous, and they are more than happy to have a chat and give you tips and tricks.”

Gourmet food vendors from across Sydney will be at the festival, and visitors will be treated to live music performances from acts such as Tom Southey and Little Notes Duo.

This is pet-friendly event, though dogs must be on a leash. Face painting for kids will be available, and a basketball hoop game will be held with exciting prizes to be won.

The Mudgee Wine and Food Festival is more than just an event, it’s a celebration of the Mudgee region’s contemporary country charm, infused with art, music, quality produce and wine. The event promotes Mudgee’s heritage while providing the community with a great day out.

Entry is free. Wine glasses will be available for purchase on the day for those looking to do wine tasting. Wine glasses and wine tasting tokens can be pre-purchased on the festival website.

A free shuttle bus will run via Spit Junction, Mosman Junction and Balmoral from 10.30am to 5.30pm.
