North Sydney Council is looking to change up Waverton Village, encouraging the local community to have their say.
The project will look into potential public domain improvements within the village. The public domain includes the streets, footpaths, public spaces, landscaping, street furniture and other public accessible areas that contribute to the character and function of the village.
The consultation is focused on understanding areas such as the value of Waverton Village, what should be protected, current issues and challenges, and community priorities for investment and renewal.
No concept designs have been developed as of yet and will only commence once community feedback has been finalised.
Council have noted that so far, ideas of potential interest to the community include improving accessibility, making the village more pedestrian-friendly, increasing shade and greenery, supporting local businesses, and enhancing public spaces for social connection.
Feedback is not only open to local residents, but to all who have had some form of engagement with Waverton Village, including catching the train, visiting local shops or simply passing by.
Feedback can be provided via an online form, via email or by post to North Sydney Council, and closes on 30 September.
