Mounties Group, which operates Harbord Diggers in Freshwater and Manly Bowling Club, is a finalist in all nine categories of the 2024 NSW Clubs & Community Awards showcasing the outstanding commitment the club group has to giving back and supporting local communities across Sydney and the Central Coast.
The Clubs & Community Awards recognise the outstanding social contributions made by clubs in their local communities. In 2024, ClubsNSW received over 150 submissions across the nine categories of awards and for the first time, Mounties Group has become a finalist in all nine categories: arts, education, emergency services, fostering grassroots sport, health care, heart of the community, mental wellbeing, social inclusion and environmental sustainability.
Community initiatives that have been recognised in these awards include Mounties’ launch into supporting people to remain independent via Mounties Care, the development of a powerful domestic violence action plan and campaign, ‘Break the Silence – End Domestic Violence’ and of course continued major sponsorship of the Mounties Care CareFlight helicopter.
President of Mounties Group, John Dean, described how proud he is of the group to have been nominated as finalists in so many categories and how the last year has spurred them on to even greater things.
“These awards are a testament to how vital local clubs are in their communities, recognising the commitment that our industry plays in giving back to worthy causes and innovative initiatives,” said Mr Dean.
“I could not be prouder of what we have achieved as a team in the last 12 months,” said Mr Dean.
“It is a defining moment for us, and these finalist nominations are a reflection of our impact in our communities.”
All finalist’s stories are reviewed by an independent panel of judges, who score nominations based on a judging criteria. The Clubs & Community Awards are held yearly and will take place in Sydney on 6 June 2024.
