Five additional “bricks” of cocaine, valued at almost $1 million, were found washed up on the Northern Beaches.

On 1 April early morning, two packages were found by beachgoers at Freshwater Beach and reported to lifeguards around 7.30am.

Three other bricks were discovered about 7.50am on 2 April. Police were notified that the suspicious packages had been located at Boambee Beach, near Coffs Harbour.

Officers attached to Coffs/Clarence Police District seized the items, which will be forensically examined.

Police from Marine Area Command conducted patrols with no further finds.

As inquiries continue, the public are reminded to report any suspicious package to authorities.

It is believed that the total weight of the cocaine found was five kilograms, with an estimated street value of over $900,000, with a supposed sale price of $180,000 per kilo, as reported by the NSW Crime Commission.

The origin of the drug packages remains unclear, but evidence such as barnacles on some packages suggests they had been in the water for weeks.

The first package was found on 22 December 2023 at Magenta Beach on The Central Coast. Since then, additional packages have been found at several beaches including Manly, North Steyne, Barrenjoey, North Bondi and other locations across Sydney. The findings have resulted in more than 250 kilograms of cocaine.
