A teenage boy and four girls have been charged following a pursuit with police in a stolen vehicle on the Northern Beaches overnight.

At about 4.40 am on 10 May, officers attached to Northern Beaches Police Area Command were called to a home on Lalchere Street, Curl Curl, following reports of a break-in.

Police were told a Porsche SUV had allegedly been stolen from the home.

A short time later, officers patrolling Balgowlah located the Porsche on Burnt Bridge Deviation at Manly Vale and attempted to stop the vehicle.

When the Porsche failed to stop a pursuit was initiated with the SUV before the vehicle collided with a concrete barrier on Spit Road, Mosman.

The occupants were not injured and the driver, a 16-year-old boy, and six female passengers, aged between 12 and 16, were arrested.

They were taken to Manly and Chatswood Police Stations.

Four girls, aged 12, 16, and 14, were charged with being carried in conveyance without the owner’s consent and granted conditional bail to appear at children’s court on Wednesday, June 5, 2024.

The teenage boy has now been charged with police pursuit, drive conveyance without consent of owner, drive never licensed, not stop at red light/stop sign, larceny, and breach of bail.

He was refused bail to appear at a children’s court on 11 May.

Two girls, aged 14 and 13, were released and will be dealt with under the Young Offenders Act.
