At about 11.30pm, 12 officers attached to the Northern Beaches Police Area Command were patrolling Pittwater Road, Narrabeen, when they observed a Hyundai sedan with a Victorian registration allegedly driving in a dangerous manner.
Attempts were made to stop the vehicle, however, when the driver allegedly failed to stop, a pursuit was initiated.
The pursuit was terminated at Narrabeen due to the weather conditions and the manner of driving.
A short time later, the Hyundai crashed into a fence, and the driver allegedly fled the scene on foot.
Further inquiries revealed the vehicle was allegedly stolen from Freshwater on 11 May.
