The Ravenswood Australian Women’s Art Prize – celebrating its tenth year in 2026 – is proud to announce this year’s finalists for the country’s highest-value art prize for women.
Having received an incredible 1,750 entries across three categories (Professional, Emerging and Indigenous Emerging) and representing artists from every state and territory of Australia, the judges have selected 105 artworks as finalists, to be exhibited at the two-week Exhibition of Finalists from Opening Night on 15 May, when the winners of the Prize will be announced. The total prize pool of $58,000 will be split between the Professional Artist Prize winner ($35,000), Emerging Artist Prize winner ($7,500 – supported by The Reed Family Foundation), and Indigenous Emerging Artist Prize winner ($7,500 – supported by Guardian and Scarborough Foundation). There is also a People’s Choice Award of $2,000 (supported by Edwina Palmer) plus a Derivan art pack valued at $500. Six Highly Commended Awards (two for each category) of $1,000 each (supported by Community Bank Lindfield) will also be awarded.
Renowned public artist Jade Oakley, Patron and one of the judges of the Ravenswood Australian Women’s Art Prize said the judging panel was impressed by the quality and quantity of the artworks.
“Now in its tenth year, it is inspiring to see the Ravenswood Australian Women’s Art Prize go from strength to strength, and to witness the opportunities it affords Professional, Emerging and Indigenous women artists across the country,” said Ms Oakley.
Tickets to the opening night are on sale and include exhibition entry, a gastronomic reflection from partner the Trippas White Group (TWG) featuring native ingredients and local producers, and complemented with a selection of wines from TWG’s Women in Wine collection.
Artworks will be for sale online on the night following the winners announcements and until the end of the exhibition – open to the public from 16 to 31 May, Thursdays to Sundays, from 10am to 4pm in the Centenary Centre at Ravenswood School for Girls, 10 Henry Street, Gordon.
