Celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women will be the focus of the International Women’s Day breakfast, set to be held in Manly on 6 March.
The annual event, hosted by Northern Beaches Council, will see women come together to enjoy breakfast and support women’s charities. The guest speaker will be Dr Ceri Cashell, a specialist GP, medical writer and advocate for women’s health equity. Dr Cashell challenges outdated medical thinking, helping women feel informed and reframing how Australia understands menopause and supporting women to thrive in midlife and beyond.
Mayor Sue Heins says the event is an opportunity for women to come together. “I encourage everyone to join us for a morning of learning, connection and celebration. It’s a chance to make a real impact for local women and help create a more inclusive future for all,” she says.
“International Women’s Day is a powerful reminder of the meaningful contributions women make every day in our community.”
Tickets are now on sale for the event, and there is an option to pre-purchase raffle tickets online, with proceeds from the raffle going to charities Women & Children First and the Northern Beaches Women’s Shelter.
