Community choirs across the country, including With One Voice in Chatswood, are throwing open their doors for Try a Choir Week. From today until the 22 August there’s an open invitation for people of all backgrounds and abilities to experience the power of song and connection.
Run by With One Voice, one of Australia’s largest community choir networks, the initiative will see 25 choirs in nearly every state and territory welcome newcomers to join a rehearsal, free of charge. Whether you’re a seasoned singer or have never sung in a group before, everyone is welcome. There are no auditions and no pressure, just the uplifting experience of singing together in community.
Creativity Australia’s With One Voice choirs are on a mission to end loneliness through inclusion, belonging and joy. In a 2024 survey, 97% of choir members reported feeling better after choir. Try a Choir Week offers people a chance to meet others, lift their spirits, and discover what makes community singing so special.
With One Voice in Chatswood rehearses at the Willoughby Uniting Church on Tuesdays from 5.30pm to 7pm.
