Registrations are open for young guns aged 12 to 24 to participate in this year’s Beaches Young Filmmakers Comp.
Taking part as individuals or teams, entrants will have four days to create a short film of up to seven minutes in length. Challenge elements need to be weaved in such as a keyword, mystery items or phrases. But for now, these are top secret and will be revealed on 12 August at 4pm. The four-day countdown begins from then, with film submissions closing on 16 August at 9pm.
Standout films will make the big screen, being shown at HOYTS in Warringah Mall on the Finals and Awards Night on 9 September. A prize pool of over $3,000 alongside industry prizes is also up for grabs.
There is an entry fee per entrant or team of $50.
Whether you are just starting out behind the lens or consider yourself a filmmaking wizard, there’s no time like the present to throw your hat in the ring.
