The Ravenswood Australian Women’s Art Prize is the highest-valued Art Prize for women in Australia and, in 2025, will award artists with $58,000 in prize money.
The 2024 Art Prize received more than 1600 entries from all Australian states and territories – almost double the entries the Archibald Prize received. Entering its ninth year in 2025, the Ravenswood Australian Women’s Art Prize is steadfast in its commitment to recognising the contributions of women artists.
The annual acquisitive Art Prize has drawn more than 11,100 entries since launching in 2017, solidifying its pivotal role in shining a spotlight on women artists across Australia. Accentuating the Prize’s significance on the Australian art landscape, Emerging and Indigenous artists have accounted for 65% of submissions since 2017.
All entrants must be 18 years or over as of 1 February 2025, and prizes include the Professional Artist Prize – $35,000, Emerging Artist Prize – $7500 and Indigenous Emerging Artist Prize – $7500. There is also a People’s Choice Award of $2000 plus a Derivan art pack valued at $500. New in 2025, six Highly Commended Awards (two for each category) of $1000 each will also be awarded.
Entries close on 5 March 2025. Finalists are announced on 8 May 2025, with Opening Night to be held at Ravenswood School for Girls on 20 June 2025.
