North Narrabeen has taken out the regional qualifier title in the NSW Central leg of the Australian Boardriders Battle (ABB) Regional Series at Curl Curl. The win has secured their place in the 2027 ABB Grand Final at Burleigh Heads.
“It’s always an honour to surf for North Narrabeen,” North Narrabeen Boardriders Team Captain Nathan Hedge said. “There have been generations of great surfers through the club, so it’s awesome to still be able to come out on top. All the clubs have gotten so much stronger, and we had a different team today, so it was great to give a few different people an opportunity. It’s also a really good warm-up heading into Burleigh for the national finals.”
North Narrabeen team member Jagger Phillips claimed the Boost Mobile Wave of the Day following an 8.83 points ride – the event’s highest-scoring wave.
The team are now set to compete at the grand final in March next year. Other Northern Beaches clubs North Steyne, Long Reef, Bungan, Dee Why Fraternity, North Avalon and Freshwater have also qualified for the grand final.
