Alleged road rage sees man charged
A man has been charged following an alleged road rage incident at Belrose on 24 September, with another driver needing hospital treatment.
At around 2pm on 24 September, emergency services were called to Forest Way, Belrose, following reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle.
Police will allege a 27-year-old man had stopped at traffic lights at the intersection of Forest Way and Glen Street when his vehicle was struck from behind by a black utility. Following the collision, the driver of the utility allegedly threatened the man before stealing his mobile phone as he tried to video tape the interaction.
It is further alleged the driver then reversed his vehicle before accelerating towards the victim, striking him and causing him to be thrown several metres onto a median strip.
The alleged incident was witnessed by a member of the public who followed the vehicle and provided information to police.
The injured man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and taken to Royal North Shore Hospital. He suffered multiple injuries.
Following inquiries, police identified a 45-year-old man as the driver of the vehicle. He attended Frenchs Forest Police Station before being arrested and taken to Manly Police Station.
The man was charged with several offences, including Robbery, drive furiously and cause bodily harm, intimidation and not exchanging particulars after a Collison. He was granted conditional bail and is due to appear at Manly Local Court on the 14 October.

Lifetime venue ban initiative launched
A new community safety initiative introduced by the Northern Beaches Liquor Accord has resulted in the first lifetime venue ban being issued, following an alleged assault at Manly.
The initiative aims to enhance patron and staff safety by ensuring individuals involved in serious incidents at participating licensed venues can be excluded from venues across the Northern Beaches.
The first lifetime ban was issued to a 34-year-old Surry Hills man following an alleged assault of a security guard at Manly Pavilion.
Around 8.15pm on 19 September, the man allegedly assaulted a security guard at Manly Pavilion. Police commenced an investigation and the man was subsequently charged with Common Assault. He was granted conditional bail to appear before Manly Local Court on 21 October.
The man is now banned for life from participating venues under the Northern Beaches Liquor Accord initiative.
