The 2025 Manly Inflatable Boat Race is set to return to Manly and Shelly Beach on Sunday, March 30, promising an ‘unforgettable’ day of fun, chaos, and community spirit. Recognised as ‘Community Event of the Year’ at the 2016 Australia Day Awards, the event has raised over $300,000 for charity since its inception. This year’s race will support the Manly Adolescent and Young Adult Hospice (AYAH) and cancer research charity Tour de Cure.
James Griffin, Member for Manly, is urging the community to get behind this unique event. “The Manly Inflatable Boat Race is an epic event that showcases the very best of Manly. I encourage everyone to get involved and make a splash for a fantastic cause,” Griffin said. Over 500 participants and thousands of spectators are expected to join the madness, with registration kicking off at 7:30 am at South Steyne and the race itself starting at 10:00 am at Shelly Beach.
Founder Denver Bevan describes the event as “a highlight on the Sydney calendar,” inviting everyone to enjoy the spectacle of paddling through the waves in colourful inflatables. AYAH’s Tayia Yates highlights the profound impact the funds raised will have, emphasising the care and support provided to young people in need.
