Celebrate spring at the Stony Range Spring Festival on Sunday 13 September 2026 from 10am to 3pm with lots of fun for all the family.
Stony Range Botanic Garden at 810 Pittwater Road in Dee Why is an oasis set on three hectares of natural bushland and is jointly managed by Northern Beaches Council and a Volunteer Advisory Committee. This year the garden celebrates 60 years since the official opening of Stony Range Spring Festival.
You can buy plants and seek advice from the Stony Range nursery volunteers and the members of the Australian Plants Society Northern Beaches Group. There will be face painting, treasure hunts, and live music. There will be displays, live native animals, coffee shop, a sausage sizzle, and homemade cakes.
Intricate walkways take visitors to a variety of microclimates in the garden. The main circuit takes approximately 20 minutes to complete and in 2013 was extended to include the accessible sensory track – where people of all abilities can experience the Australian bush like never before.
Signs along the sensory track point to plants you can touch, taste, smell, and look at, to observe the garden with all your senses. There are also side tracks for the energetic and inquisitive.
Spring is the best time to view the vivid colours of the garden’s fabulous floral displays. However, the beauty of the garden is breathtaking all year round.
There is a large undercover area, picnic tables, barbecue and a unisex accessible toilet located within the garden.
