North Sydney Council is inviting young artists to help bring festive cheer to the streets this Christmas through its Christmas Drawing Competition.
Open to all primary school students from Kindergarten to Year 6 who live in or attend school within the North Sydney Local Government Area, the competition encourages children to share their vision of what Christmas looks like in their local community.
The winning artworks will be professionally printed and featured on festive street banners displayed throughout North Sydney during the Christmas season.
Speaking about the North Sydney Christmas Drawing Competition Mayor Zoë Baker said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for children to express their creativity and help shape the festive spirit of our area. We’re thrilled to launch this new initiative and can’t wait to see how our youngest residents capture the joy of Christmas in North Sydney.”
Prizes will be awarded to the top three entries. The first place winner will have their artwork featured on official banners and receive a $100 voucher, with the second place winner taking home a $50 voucher, and third place receiving a $25 voucher.
To enter, students must create their artwork using the official entry form and submit it by 2pm, Monday 20 October. Entries can be posted, dropped off at council, or emailed as a scanned copy.
