There’s less than a month to go for women artists to enter their submissions for the Ravenswood Australian Women’s Art Prize.
The prize, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, offers a total of $58,000 in prize money – making it the highest-valued art prize for women. Entries for the 2026 prize will close at midday on 11 February.
It’s open to women artists aged 18 and over who reside in Australia and accepts all artistic mediums in three prize categories: Professional Artists Prize – $35,000; Emerging Artist Prize – $7,500; and Indigenous Emerging Artist Prize – $7,500.
There are also additional awards which include a People’s Choice Award of $2,000 and a Derivan art pack valued at $500, and six Highly Commended Awards (two for each category) of $1,000 each.
Artist Joan Ross will be the guest judge of this year’s prize, joining a panel of judges including patron Jade Oakley, Jennifer Turpin, Kathryn Hendy-Ekers, Katrina Collins and Kathryn Minkley.
Joan was the winner of the Professional Artist category at the inaugural Ravenswood Australian Women’s Art Prize in 2017.
Finalists for the prize will be announced on 1 April.
