Bus passengers travelling in Sydney’s Northern Beaches and the lower North Shore are being encouraged to plan ahead for their trips tomorrow.
Transport for NSW has been advised that Rail, Tram and Bus Union (RTBU) members intend to undertake industrial action that may impact the operation of onboard systems.
While buses are expected to continue running, including services to and from the city, onboard Opal card readers may be switched off. This means real-time tracking information may not be available in apps or online journey planners, making it harder for passengers to plan their trips.
Passengers may also experience crowding at major interchanges and busy locations, and are encouraged to allow extra travel time, follow staff directions and consider travelling outside peak periods where possible.
Passengers should note that because of this action, free or unrecorded trips will not count towards Opal weekly caps or transfer discounts, which may affect those using multiple services.
Other transport options, including ferries and roads, may be busier than usual due to reduced visibility of bus services.
Passengers are encouraged to plan ahead, check transportnsw.info for the latest updates and download the Opal Travel app for real-time disruption information.
Road users can download the Live Traffic NSW app, visit livetraffic.com or call 132 701 for up-to-date traffic conditions.
