A new cancer centre has been opened for the Northern Beaches. In April, GenesisCare officially opened its new $35 million centre, the first one offering radiation therapy and medical oncology in the same facility.
Pathology services operated by NSW Health Pathology are also available and diagnostic imaging will be offered soon.
Politicians, doctors, local leaders and community members attended the official opening of Genesis Care, located at 49 Frenchs Forest Rd, Frenchs Forest, near Northern Beaches Hospital.
Federal Member for Mackellar, Dr Sophie Scamps MP, said: “Being able to access a range of services in the one place is really important for patients dealing with cancer treatment. It can be a very stressful experience, so it is great news for the people of the Northern Beaches that we have this new centre offering multiple therapies and services under one roof.”
Northern Beaches Mayor, Sue Heins, who also attended the opening, said: “Northern Beaches residents will benefit from the additional services offered by GenesisCare who will provide cancer care and treatment for our community.”
GenesisCare has been offering oncology services in NSW for more than 14 years.
