North Sydney’s Sunset Series is back from 15 March for another year of live music, family activities and delicious food at St Leonards Park.
Across three autumn afternoons a line-up of musicians will perform at the outdoor event, offering an exciting mix of classical, swing, jazz and indie sounds for the whole family to enjoy – all completely free.
Sunset Series offers a combination of high-quality live music, children’s activities and a relaxed outdoor setting. Locals and visitors are invited to bring a picnic rug to the park and enjoy the music.
There will also be a range of interactive experiences available. From face painting to roving entertainment, different activities will be curated for each date. A few delicious options of food and beverage will also be available.
North Sydney Mayor Zoë Baker says the Sunset Series is another way North Sydney’s public spaces can be used for the community to come together through culture and creativity.
“Sunset Series brings together mix of talented artists, community groups and local food to create a welcoming, inclusive, family-friendly environment for everyone to enjoy,” Mayor Baker says. “Accessible open spaces and live music play an important role in fostering social connection and it’s through events like these that council supports a strong sense of community in North Sydney.”

A jazzy afternoon | 15 March
Renowned jazz group, The Pocket Trio, perform with featured artists Monica Trapaga, Kate Wadey, Tilly Street and Edo Santini. They’ll be supported by Feel The Manouche, a group known for their gypsy jazz music with an Australian twist.
Time to dance! | 12 April
The Hot Potato Band will bring a high-energy performance, featuring brass beats from trumpets, saxophones, trombones and more. Opening on the night will be local band, The Young Guns.
A symphonic sunset | 17 May
The afternoon will begin with multi-genre song woman Dyagula, before North Sydney Symphony Orchestra give a dynamic performance that goes beyond classical music.
