Officers attached to Northern Sydney Sector Highway Patrol, would like to remind the public about motorcycle awareness and safety.
Police will be conducting high visibility enforcement to ensure safety and compliance, and will not tolerate any unsafe riding behaviours on our roads.
Police remind all motorcyclists that they are only allowed to lane filter if you are a fully licensed motorcyclist, and travelling less than 30km/h and that is illegal to lane filter next to the kerb, parked vehicles, or in school zones.
In NSW, the motorcycle helmet must comply with AS/NZS 1698 or UNE Regulation No 22, and be labelled accordingly.
For all other motorists, a reminder to always check twice for motorcycles, and be aware of your blind spots.
