Over the past five decades, Neutral Bay Community Centre has played an important role in the community, providing a place for locals to connect, learn new skills and take part in activities.
To celebrate this year’s milestone, the centre held a room naming ceremony to acknowledge four of its founding members: Barbara Anderson, who was its president from 2002 to 2012; Christine McCormick, a former volunteer tutor; and Pauline Constantine, who was president from 2012 to 2019. A plaque was erected in the main room of the centre for the late founding treasurer, Phyllis Stodick.
Past and present members attended the celebrations held on 17 March, enjoying an afternoon tea.
Neutral Bay Community Centre had many achievements since its foundation, including being awarded Community Centre of the Year on Australia Day in 2016.
Members can access free and low-cost health and fitness classes, programs, activities, and special events.
