Northern Beaches Council are holding a number of events on the lead up to National Recycling Week, which is from 13 to 19 November.

Meet your neighbours, grab a bargain and help the environment at a Second Hand Saturday garage sale. The next one is on 4 November at 29 Minmai Road in Mona Vale from 6am to 3pm.

If you want to hold your own sale, Council will spread the word for you with free advertising. Any residential household can take part.

On 5 November at North Narrabeen Reserve, 1472 Pittwater Road, Warriewood, the council are holding a drive-through reuse and recycling event.

The community can drive and drop off old and unwanted items for reuse and recycling, including clothing and Manchester in good condition, essential nursery items for babies and children, small to medium electronic items, small metal items and bikes/e-bikes.

White and dry, and 100 percent clean, expanded polystyrene (EPS) used for packaging of appliances or electronics can be dropped off at Kimbriki Resource Recovery Centre on 11 November for free. It must not be contaminated with dirt or food, tape or ink printing, soil or labels.

Make your own sustainable Christmas beeswax wraps on 11 November at Manly Library with the Waste Fighters Society from Sydney University. These could make Christmas nice gifts.
