A man faced court on Saturday, charged with alleged sexual offences in Sydney’s North Shore.
At about 3.30am on Thursday (20 March 2025), a 36-year-old woman caught a bus to Neutral Bay after finishing work.
While walking down Wycombe Road, the woman was allegedly grabbed from behind by a man who covered her mouth, interfered with her clothing and pushed her against a nearby garage door.
The man allegedly pinned the woman against the door before removing his pants. The woman was able to kick and bite the man before he fled on foot towards Military Road.
A crime scene was established, and detectives attached to the North Shore Police Area Command commenced an investigation into the incident.
Following inquiries, an 18-year-old man was arrested and taken to Manly Police Station and charged with Taking or detaining a person with the intention of committing a serious indictable offence, inflicting actual bodily harm with the intent to have sexual intercourse with a victim, and carrying out a sexual act with another without consent.
He was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court on Saturday. NSW Police have not provided any updates at the time of writing.
