North Sydney Council is preparing a Planning Study to help manage and influence positive changes to the Neutral Bay Town Centre. The Neutral Bay Town Centre Planning Study (NBTCPS) will be prepared including input from expert economic, transport, design specialists, the community, and stakeholders.
The NBTCPS aims to reduce the impact of development pressure being experienced in the area and it will help to create a framework for developers with a better understanding of the community’s expectations, ensuring that the much-loved village atmosphere is maintained and enhanced.
The planning structure would also bring opportunities for the creation of open spaces, and it will allow the retention and strengthen of employment in the area by addressing the reduction of retail and commercial floor space in redevelopments.
Council will be undertaking further engagement with key stakeholders about the draft Planning Study between March and May before it is ready for public feedback in September 2023.
