The Sydney Harbour Federation Trust (Harbour Trust) is seeking applicants to join its Community Advisory Committee (CAC) for a three-year term from 2026 to 2028.
The Harbour Trust is responsible for 9 places around the harbour including North Head Sanctuary in Manly, Sub Base Platypus in North Sydney and Headland Park in Mosman.
Committee members will represent a range of community interests and perspectives, and aid in providing input into the various ways the Harbour Trust engages with key stakeholders in the management of its sites. The Harbour Trust is seeking a diverse, representative set of volunteer community advisers from Greater Sydney – and Australia – to join the committee. If you’re someone who cares about the sustained protection of important Harbour sites and contributing to their continued access and activation for all Australians, we encourage you to apply.
The Committee must be representative of community diversity in relation to gender, age, cultural background and geographic location and, as a group, include expertise across heritage or heritage management, military history, land management and the environment, education, tourism, marketing and communications, and volunteering
Members will have knowledge of the Harbour Trust and its activities, understanding of and support for the Harbour Trust’s statutory objects, be able to communicate effectively with local community groups, interest groups and other people who visit the sites and be able to work collaboratively with others who bring different perspectives.
CAC’s two-hour meetings occur quarterly usually from 5pm. Members are required to attend a minimum of 2 meetings annually.
Expressions of interest close at 5pm (AEST) on Sunday 31 August 2025. More on Harbour Trust’s website.
