One of Australia’s leading community housing providers, Link Wentworth, has honoured 30 Northern Beaches residents as part of a record-breaking scholarship round. The not-for-profit has committed $220,000 to help residents advance their personal, educational, and professional goals.

The Northern Beaches recipients were among 257 Sydneysiders celebrated at the 2025 Scholarship Awards Ceremony on 9 December 2025, the largest cohort in the program’s 15-year history. Since inception, the program has contributed more than $1.2 million in grants, giving residents access to lifelong learning opportunities.

The funding provides residents with a wide range of supports including essential study materials, new uniforms, tutoring sessions, driving lessons, TAFE and university fees, employment-related training, creative development, and personal growth activities.

Link Wentworth CEO Andrew McAnulty said the program continues to remove barriers that prevent residents from reaching their potential.

“We believe everyone deserves access to learning, opportunity, and a pathway to achieving their goals,” Mr McAnulty said.

“These scholarships not only provide practical support, but they also bring our community together, celebrating ambition, inspiring each other, and recognising the incredible achievements of our residents.”

Scholarship recipient from the Northern Beaches, Linda, said the support will make a significant difference to investing in her education.

“If it wasn’t for the Scholarship, I would be isolated. I’m now able to contribute and participate in the community. I have been able to study at TAFE and purchase the equipment I need for the course. This time last year I didn’t have a Diploma, now I have one,” Linda said.

Mr McAnulty said the Scholarship Program reflected the broader impact of support received through the Housing Australia Future Fund (HAFF), which is helping the organisation deliver more community housing and better outcomes for residents.

“The HAFF funding enables Community Housing Providers like Link Wentworth, to deliver safe and affordable homes that build stronger communities,” Mr McAnulty said.

Support from Link Wentworth’s annual Home Sweet event also contributed directly to this year’s scholarship funding through generous donations and sponsorships. Home Sweet is set to return in August next year.
