Following an alleged road rage incident on the Northern Beaches on 25 June, where a vehicle collided with an e-bike, a man has been charged.
At about 4.15pm on Thursday 25 June, emergency services were called to Irrubel Road, Newport, following reports of a crash between a Jeep and an e-bike.
NSW Ambulance paramedics attended and treated the e-bike rider, who is a 16-year-old boy, at the scene before he was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
The 59-year-old driver was uninjured.
It is alleged that the pair had been involved in a verbal altercation immediately before the crash, as officers attached to Northern Beaches Police Area Command were informed.
The rider allegedly hit the passenger side mirror of the vehicle, before the Jeep collided with the e-bike.
Following inquiries, the driver was taken to Manly Police Station where he was charged with negligent driving and drive furiously in motor vehicle do/cause bodily harm.
He was granted conditional bail to appear at Manly Local Court on 8 July.
