As the National Youth Week has started, Northern Beaches Council announced its excitement to start rolling out a new roadmap to improve youth wellbeing, build social cohesion and increase youth participation in the community life with its ‘Youth Voice Action Plan 2028 – Shaping the Beaches’ Future’.

The plan co-designed with young people was developed following consultation with over 1,000 young people who contributed more than 1,100 comments, and addresses a range of social, cultural, and economic issues, including “connection” and “equity,” as well as more pressing challenges such as affordable housing and employment.

Over the next five years, the plan outlines a series of positive actions for youth development and capacity building.

Additionally, the availability and access to mentoring will be increased to deliver learning to young people through increased intergenerational connection and peer-to-peer mentoring.
