Mary’s House annual 10-kilometre walk on 27 October at 8.30am (9.30am start) aims to raise $250,000 to support its services helping women and children escaping domestic and family violence.
The funds will allow Mary’s House Services to provide more case management hours for families accessing the Mary’s House refuge, as well as the provision of more programs to aid women who are still living in the community at the Daisy Outreach centre.
As little as $50 could provide a gift card for a woman to buy personal care items, $1,000 could assist with wellbeing workshops and $5,000 could help with the cost of providing safe accommodation at Mary’s House refuge.
The community can participate as an individual, or by calling on your network of friends and colleagues to support you through sponsorship. You could also rally a group of mates, co-workers and start a team to broaden your reach and impact.
The walk will commence at St Leonards Park, adjacent to North Sydney Oval in Miller Street, North Sydney, and heads towards Balls Head Reserve, Waverton and returning via McMahons Point to finish back at the park.
$15.00 of each registered walkers $75 ticket goes toward event costs and the balance is receipted to you as a tax -deductible donation.
Children under 15 walk for free. Register here.
