Join independent Member for Bradfield Nicolette Boele MP for a town hall on artificial intelligence (AI). Held at Turramurra Bowling Club on Tuesday 14 July, the event brings together a panel of experts and will explore ‘what AI means for our community, our economy, and our future.’
Some of the areas of discussion include learnings from Robodebt, comparisons with data centre issues related to gas exports, and what good governance of AI looks like in practice.
Sitting on the panel alongside Ms Boele are former Human Rights Commissioner Edward Santow, strategic advisor Michelle Lim and researcher Bronwyn Cumbo.
This event comes after growing concerns about AI. In a recent speech in federal parliament, Ms Boele stated that 750 people in Bradfield responded to a survey she conducted about the increasing number of data centres.
“Over half felt negatively about the growth of data centres. Over 80% were not confident the government will effectively regulate data centres. And three-fifths were worried about a repeat of the gas industry experience of being ripped off,” Ms Boele said.
The town hall event is free and open to members of the public. For more information, visit the website of Nicolette Boele MP.
