The much-awaited Creative Open is back with a vibrant mix of tacos, tattoos, and tunes, along with a plethora of artistic activities for all ages. From 27 to 30 July, creative businesses, studios, and venues across the Northern Beaches will open their doors to host over 50 fun and imaginative events.
Northern Beaches Mayor Sue Heins expressed excitement about the four-day festival, which showcases the blossoming contemporary art scene in the area. The Creative Open aims to put the Northern Beaches on Sydney’s creative and cultural map, offering an array of experiences for everyone to enjoy.
Visitors can tailor their adventure with a variety of performances, exhibitions, workshops, talks, dining experiences, and street art on offer. Notable highlights include the Tacos, Tunes & Tattoos happy hour event at the Manly Art Gallery and Museum (MAG&M), featuring live tattooing, DJ sets, and delicious food from Dope Fusion.
The festival also celebrates First Nations art and creativity, with workshops by Tegan Murdock and interactive cooking lessons using native bush tucker plants at Aboriginal-owned Bush to Bowl.
Kids can participate in art workshops, exploring mindfulness, nature, and creativity. Local makers will showcase their handmade creations at Manly Library, and a delightful scavenger hunt will add a touch of fun and artistry to the festival.
With live music, theatre performances, ceramic workshops, printmaking lessons, and much more, the Creative Open promises an enriching and inspiring experience for all art enthusiasts.
