Tempt your tastebuds and seduce your senses at Bijolias fine Indian cuisine in Seaforth.

Bijolias Fine Indian Cuisine’s head chef Virender Pal Singh has been tantalising the tastebuds of diners at this Seaforth restaurant for 10 years.

With Virender busy cooking behind the scenes, his wife Anibha and son Ishaan are at front of house, and welcome us amidst an aroma of spices, just like they would invite family to feast with them at home.

There is something for all palates on the extensive menu, but Anibha helped narrow down the choice by asking about how spicy we liked our food. We simply sat back and waited for the feasting to begin.

First to arrive steaming and fragrant was chicken tikka. The boneless chicken pieces marinated with ginger, garlic and garam masala were succulent and the mild spices lingered on my tongue before being subdued with the coolness of a mint yoghurt dipping sauce.

The khasta prawns that followed were spicy tiger prawns, but not too spicy, and crispy coated so that each bite was a mixture of crunch, followed by a juicy mouthful of prawn, served with a tangy dipping sauce.

After we had a little break, bhuna chilly lamb arrived, along with chicken tikka coconut masala and subz malai kofta. With the table quite full, Anibha managed to find room for a bowl of basmati rice and a basket each of garlic naan and chilly cheese and coriander naan.

Bhuna lamb consisted of lamb pieces sauteed in spicy masala with capsicum, ginger and fresh chillies. The lamb was melt-in-the-mouth tender and the spice level was a perfect medium for me. The coconut masala, which is tandoori chicken tikka simmered with coconut, capsicum and fresh curry leaves, was smooth and creamy, coating the tongue, the chicken tenderly cooked with love.

One of the advantages of a piece of warm naan is its ability to sweep up every last morsel of sauce on your plate. We were too full to leave sparkling plates, but we did leave with dinner for the following day, when we could relish in spice heaven once more.

If you are in need of a wholesome Indian dinner, you should call on Bijolias, where you are always sure of a warm welcome and exquisite food.
