Detectives have released images of a man who may be able to assist with inquiries into a 2011 armed robbery on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
At around 8am on Friday, 22 April 2011, a man entered a service station on Pittwater Road, Narrabeen, and threatened a 20-year-old staff member with a sawn-off rifle. He fled with an undisclosed amount of cash and was last seen running west along Robertson Street. No one was injured during the incident.
The man is described as having a Caucasian appearance, approximately 25 years old at the time, about 170 cm tall, of medium build, with short, spiked dark hair, and a barbed wire tattoo on his right upper arm. He was wearing a white cap, a brown jumper with red patterns on the sleeves, light blue track pants, black and blue gloves, and dark shoes. Some of these clothing items were later recovered on The Esplanade.
Northern Beaches Crime Manager, Inspector Mick Boutouridis, said police are seeking public assistance.
“Today marks the 14th anniversary of when the hold-up occurred and we are asking for help from the public,” Inspector Boutouridis said.
“Despite the passage of time we never give up on trying to solve serious offences, especially when a firearm is produced.
“As part of our investigation into this incident, we have released images of a man who may be able to assist with our inquiries.
“Someone must know something about this case, and we are calling on anyone who knows anything to call Manly Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”
