The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) is urging people to be aware of scammers sending texts impersonating NSW Revenue.
On its Facebook page, the ACCC posted an image of the text that’s been to scam people.
“If you tap on the link in the message you’ll be directed to a scam website and have your personal and financial information stolen.
“The scam is sophisticated and realistic, using details like the correct phone number and logo for NSW Revenue.
Never tap links in text messages. Always check the contact is real before sharing your financial or personal details. You can do this by calling the organisation using contact details you find yourself through an online search.
