North Sydney Council has released its draft Operational Plan and Budget for the 2023/24 financial year, with residents and ratepayers invited to view the proposals and provide feedback before 7 June.
The plan outlines a $79.4m capital works program, including $43.5m for the completion of the North Sydney Olympic Pool redevelopment.
Other capital works projects include a permanent plaza in Kirribilli, the revamp of Willoughby Road, and the opening of the Quarantine Boat Depot site for community use.
North Sydney mayor Zoë Baker emphasised that the capital works program would provide new facilities across the local government area, with a focus on essential infrastructure and upgrades to parks and public domains.
The draft budget forecasts a deficit of $2m, primarily due to a $2.2 million contribution to an affordable housing project, and rates will not exceed the 3.7% rate peg set by the Independent Pricing and Regulation Tribunal.
The draft Operational Plan and Budget are available on Council’s website.
