Barry O’Keefe Library in Mosman has installed a new interactive table to support adults living with dementia or intellectual disabilities in its Creation Space.
The Tover table has been designed to challenge players at their own level to help develop or maintain skills in a fun and playful way. Contestants can choose from a range of games which work on physical, cognitive, social and sensory levels and can be used by those with cognitive challenges as well as their carers.
This new interactive table includes innovative light projections that prompt individual users or groups to try to move puzzles or images around a tabletop, stimulating movement, social interaction and engagement.
The Creation Space is a training lab focussing on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths (STEAM) programs and activities for all ages. It provides a place for the community to create, learn and develop digital literacy skills.
