Mosman Square and the adjacent Village Green are currently undergoing significant renovation. The project is already well underway, with the planting of mature trees and the construction of seat steps and retaining walls in progress.

The new design of the square will feature not only 30 newly planted trees, but also 10 existing mature trees, as well as over 1,200 small shrubs and plants, creating a lush and inviting atmosphere. And it’s prioritizing sustainability by reusing materials, reinforcing the turf surface with mesh, and incorporating an interactive playground and enhanced lighting.

The historical features of the square, including the beautiful Italian Antico Fountain and the unique Meeting Place: Welumbulla Cyfafod sculpture, will be preserved.

Monthly markets and quarterly night markets will resume once the project is completed. The Allan Border Oval pavilion is also undergoing renovations, with the installation of the roof and landscaping work currently underway.
