Mosman’s electric vehicle (EV) public fast charging network has achieved a significant milestone by reducing over 100,000kg of carbon dioxide emissions since its installation. In support of this initiative, Mosman Council has adorned its Hyundai Ioniq with a distinctive digital livery in blue. The fully electric vehicle boasts a range of more than 250km on a full charge, which takes approximately 47 minutes using a fast charger.

Council’s three fast chargers located at Mosman Square and Raglan Street West car parks have recorded an average of over 170 charging sessions per week. This translates to a remarkable weekly reduction of over 2,800kg of carbon dioxide emissions. By providing renewable electricity through chargers, council effectively mitigates its carbon footprint, avoiding the consumption of fossil fuels.

The usage of the chargers is carefully monitored, enabling the council to anticipate future growth in EV adoption and adjust its infrastructure accordingly.

As more motorists embrace electric vehicles in the years to come, Mosman’s EV charging network continues to play a crucial role in promoting sustainability and reducing environmental impact.
