The winners of Australia’s longest running municipal art award, the Mosman Art Prize, are set to be announced on 20 August.
The Prize, which is now in it’s 79th year, has become a platform for contemporary Australian painting, with this year’s winning piece set to go into the collection and sit alongside the works of esteemed artists including Margaret Olley and Cressida Campbell.
The winner of the Mosman Art Prize is set to take home $70,000, with the prize supported by Mosman Council. There is also a $10,000 Margaret Olley Commendation Award, a $5,000 Allan Gamble Award, and a $3,000 Guy Warren Emerging Artist Award up for grabs. This year’s judge is Blair French, the Chief Executive Officer of the Murray Art Museum Albury.
The exhibition will open to the public on Friday, 21 August, and run until Monday 26 October at the Mosman Art Gallery.
