The Sun Run along the beautiful beaches is back and open to people of all abilities on Saturday, 3
February.

What better way to kick-start the year than running through the beautiful beaches and raising money for charity? Join the Sun Run over 7 or 10 kilometres through a scenic route that stretches from Dee Why to Manly beaches on 3 February.

The Sun Run is more than a race. It is an opportunity to enjoy a fun day with family and friends while exercising for a good cause. A great example of commitment and passion is participant Nedd Brockmann, known for completing a 4,000 kilometre run from Perth to Sydney in 47 days to raise $2.6 million for a homeless charity
We are Mobilise in 2022.

Originally from Forbes in country NSW, Nedd has a ‘can do’ attitude. “I only ever chose to take it on (the Perth run) for two reasons. Living my life to the absolute fullest and giving back,” Nedd says.

About the upcoming Sun Run, Nedd says he is excited to be part of it as it’s a great opportunity for everyone to give back.

“You don’t have to be an elite athlete. The run is about getting off the couch, getting into the fresh air with like-minded people, having some fun and at the same time raising money for people who need it. Just give it a red-hot go. You’ve got nothing to lose!” Nedd said.

Northern Beaches Mayor Sue Heins says the event is open to everyone.

“This annual event has been taking place on the beaches since 2011 and is gaining momentum every year.

“The much-loved event appeals to locals and visitors of all fitness levels. Runners, walkers and experienced  athletes are invited to participate in this popular, summer fun run.”

The 10km event will start from 6.30am and the 7km race will commence from 7am.

Sun Run aims to help raise over $100,000 for numerous charities across Australia. Participants can choose which charity to support when they register. Registrations close at 3pm on 2 February.
