Make a change for the better with these eco events on the Beaches
With the belief that local action drives global change, Climate Action Week will see many communities, including the Northern Beaches, host a variety of talks, exhibitions, seminars and walks relating to the environment in an effort to inspire action on climate.
During Climate Action Week, which runs from 9 to 15 March, Northern Beaches Council will be reaffirming its commitment to a sustainable future by empowering its residents and local industries to take the lead. It’s curated program of events will provide practical tools and local connections needed to turn climate goals into a community-wide reality.
Northern Beaches Mayor Sue Heins says it’s a time when inspiration, learning and action go hand-in hand. “Climate Action Week is all about empowering our residents to be part of the solution,” Mayor Heins says. “Every action, big or small, helps build a more sustainable future for the Northern Beaches. I encourage everyone to get involved, learn something new and join us in protecting our community and our planet.”
She adds that the events ‘show how we can all make a difference in tackling climate change, whether in our homes, businesses or through everyday choices.’

CEAD Collection Stories: Mangroves
Until 5 April
Manly Art Gallery & Museum
This exhibition explores the fragile beauty of our mangrove ecology – where freshwater and saltwater meet to sustain a rich web of life. Through ceramics, prints and paintings, audiences are invited to reflect on how art can spark dialogue, raise questions and deepen our understanding of this unique environment. The exhibition highlights the power of art to connect us more closely with the ecosystems that shape our world.
MAG&M’s Collective for Environmental Art & Design (CEAD) initiative has a longstanding commitment to exploring the intersection between art, design and the environment.
