A man was charged following an alleged domestic-related incident at 3pm on 29 March in Collaroy.

Officers from Northern Beaches Police Area Command attended to a home on Hay Street; however, the man allegedly involved had already left the scene.

Police returned to the home about 5.30pm following reports the man had since returned.

When officers approached the 50-year-old man in a nearby vehicle, it’s alleged he fled and ran into a nearby golf course.

Local police along with the Dog Unit and PolAir conducted a search, and the man was arrested about 6.45pm, after being found hiding in bushes.

The man was taken to Northern Beaches Hospital for further assessment.

During a search of the vehicle, officers seized identification cards, floor rugs, electric devices, keys and hand tools alleged to have been stolen.

The man was later taken to Manly Police Station where he was charged with four counts of goods in personal custody suspected being stolen, false representation resulting in police investigation, contravene prohibition/ restriction in AVO (domestic), destroy or damage property (DV), drive motor vehicle while licence suspended, use unregistered motor vehicle on road, use vehicle with unauthorised number plate affixed, and use vehicle displaying misleading etc number-plate.

He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court on 30 March.
