Transport for NSW (Transport) is inviting feedback on its plans for Cammeray Parklands – land between the Warringah Freeway and Cammeray Golf Course which is currently being used as a construction site for the Western Harbour Tunnel (WHT) project.
Once construction is complete, the 2.5 hectares will be returned to the community as Cammeray Parklands with large open lawns and native Australian gardens.
The draft Western Harbour Tunnel (WHT) Place, Design and Landscape Plan (PDLP) (Part 3) – Cammeray Parklands, is now on exhibition for community feedback until midnight on Friday 25 September 2026.
The draft PDLP has been developed in collaboration with North Sydney Council, who will care for and maintain the parklands once they open in 2028.
The community can give feedback on active recreation facilities, including a proposed multi-use half-court (basketball or pickleball), a five-a-side synthetic soccer pitch and an outdoor fitness station.
Feedback can also be given on park facilities such as parking, seating (including materials and finishes), active transport connections (cycling, walking and jogging pathways) and landscape design, including the type and location of native plants.
Certain design elements are not subject to community feedback, as they have been designed in accordance with strict engineering or technical requirements that must be adhered to during the design process.
Transport created an interactive online map to show the design elements of the future Cammeray Parklands.
