The Liberal candidate for Manly was announced on 1 October 2026 as Adelaide Cuneo, who aims to take Liberal MP James Griffin’s place in the tightly held seat.
Mr Griffin has held the Manly seat since 2017 and announced in September that he was retiring from state politics and would not be running again.
Adelaide has always lived in the area; she attended Stella Maris in Manly and recently purchased her first home in Freshwater.
After working in senior NSW Government roles, Adelaide has been working with an environment and energy not-for-profit on evidence-based policy and practical outcomes to drive more affordable energy.
“Growing up and working in our local community has taught me how important it is to have a local Member who can deliver and fight for Manly, just as James has,” said Ms Cuneo.
“Whether it’s backing local businesses or fighting for more funding for local roads, I look forward to the opportunity to represent my local community.”
Adelaide’s family operated their own business, so she grew up understanding the hard work, long hours and sacrifice it takes to keep a small business running.
She has worked in hospitality, trained as a chef and understands the pressures of running a small business.
“We have a plan to build a stronger NSW, where people can get ahead and stay ahead, businesses have the confidence to grow and create jobs, and our community can feel safe again.”
The outgoing Member for Manly, James Griffin MP, said our community needs someone who has the experience and skills to continue the important work of delivering and fighting for Manly.
“The people of Manly deserve a representative who will deliver for them from day one – better transport, infrastructure and lower taxes,” Mr Griffin said.
“Adelaide Cuneo is the right person to deliver and fight for the residents of Manly.”
The 2027 NSW State election takes place on Saturday 13 March.
